Jessie Childe

Jessie Childe, eldest daughter of the late Charles Childe and Marie Lee Childe passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026 at the age of 92. She is survived by four siblings, Elsie, Joan, Percy and Nelly of the Childe family. She is also deeply missed by her loving nieces, nephews, and their families.

A graduate of St Mary's Canossian Convent, she entered the nursing profession in 1953. In her four decades of service starting as a student nurse, she progressed from Registered Nurse to Senior Nursing Officer in 1989, dedicating herself to promoting patient safety and quality nursing education. As founder chairperson of the Hong Kong Society for Nursing Education she pioneered and contributed with her team of co-workers to this mission.

Upon her retirement in 1994, she emigrated to Canada with her late husband Dr S.W. Lam. In Vancouver, she pursued further education by earning a bachelor's degree and a postgraduate diploma in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University. Her artistic and literary activities in Vancouver also flourished as witnessed in various art exhibitions held in Burnaby. She was also well regarded by her associates in Burnaby's art circle. Jessie also expanded her community network through voluntary work with new immigrants.

Jessie was a devout Catholic, loving wife and daughter and protective big sister. She possessed a generous heart, open to any opportunity to relieve others who were less fortunate. She was someone who tirelessly sought to change life for the better in every small way she could. Today we commemorate her life and cherish our memories of a person whose perspective of life will always be inspiring.

蔡若純(已故蔡以真與李慕秀的長女)於2026年10月2日安詳離世，享年92歲。她身後留下了四弟妹：蔡憶純、蔡若琼、蔡伯純和蔡志純。她的姪子、姪女及其家人也深切懷念著她。

她畢業於聖瑪利嘉諾撒學校，並於1953年投身護理行業。在長達四十年的職業生涯中，她從實習護士學生做起，一路晉升，最終於1989年成為高級護士長，致力於提升病人安全與護理教育品質。身為香港護理教育學會的創會主席，她與同仁們一道，開創並推動了這項事業的發展。

1994年退休後，她與已故丈夫林秀華醫生移居加拿大。在溫哥華，她繼續深造，畢業於西門菲沙大學，獲取文學士學位，並考取老人科文憑。她在溫哥華的文藝生活也豐富多彩，曾在本拿比舉辦過許多藝術展覽，並深受當地藝術界同仁的敬重。此外，她也透過參與協助新移民的義工服務，拓展了自己的社區人脈。

她是一位虔誠的天主教徒，也是一位充滿愛心的妻子、女兒和關懷弟妹的長姐。她擁有一顆慷慨仁愛之心，總是樂於伸出援手，幫助那些境遇不佳的人。她不懈努力，力求透過力所能及的點滴行動讓生活變得更美好。今天，我們緬懷她的一生，珍藏對她的回憶；她的人生觀將永遠激勵著我們。

Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC, V5G3M1, CA, on October 20, 2026, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on October 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Graveside Service will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC, V5G3M1, CA, on October 21, 2026, from 11:30 am.

瞻仰遺容儀式將於2026年10月20日晚上七時三十分至九時三十分於加拿大本拿比科蘭殯儀館（地址：3789 Royal Oak Ave) 舉行；隨後葬禮儀式將於2026年10月21日上午十時至十一時在同一地點舉行。墓前儀式將於2026年10月21日上午十一時三十分在科士蘭紀念公園舉行。
