Al was born on August 12, 1938, in Maillardville, BC. He spent most of his life living in the lower mainland of BC, but briefly lived in northern BC as a young man. Al was a mill worker by trade, who worked for EL Sauder for most of his career. He called Langley home, and enjoyed raising his family in their Brookswood home.
Al loved woodworking and the outdoors, especially fishing, and had a knack for barking bread. His favourite way to spend a day was to be out on an adventure with his fishing buddy Wayne, or enjoying a good stack of pancakes at one of Langley’s many restaurants.
Al loved a good puzzle, working away at scratch-and-wins, and spending time with his family. He could often be found at local businesses, making fast friends with the staff, while enjoying a cup of chai tea, or an excellent meal.
Al is pre deceased by his father Emmanuel, mother Gertrude, siblings Yvonne (John), Morris (Leota), and Granddaughter Sierra.
Al is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Tony (Karen) and Daniel, grandchildren Meghan, Laura, Jordan and Justine, great grandchildren Preston, Cody and Riley.
Al will be remembered fondly for his funny anecdotes and stories, love of adventure and fondness for sweets, among so many other things. He will be missed, but his memory will be cherished forever.
Details for a celebration of Life will be shared at a later date.
