With great sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Joy Seong Ae Kim. Joy was born in Seoul, Korea on January 20, 1963 and passed away in Maple Ridge, BC on August 18, 2012 at the young age of 49. Joy fought a brave battle against cancer and through great hardships she persevered. It has been two years since the day of the daunting news, but by embracing her unwavering devotion and hope, she continued to express her undying love for her family and friends until the moment of her last breath. A devoted Christian, beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her father Kwang Hoon; mother, Bo Bae; husband, Gil Hyun Ki; sister, Sung Hee; sons Andrew, William, and Richard; and daughter Christina. She will be deeply missed.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will take place the next day at 2:00 pm at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
