Joyce passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on November 6, 1935, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Joyce was the heart and soul of her family and a source of endless love, warmth and laughter.
Joyce was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Ken, and a proud and loving mother to sons, Mike (Leanne) and Greg. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandson, Christian, who brought her great joy and pride. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Kay (Bock), Ivan (Ev), Susan (Russell), Linda (Bryan), and Lynnette (Rod), as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Family meant everything to Joyce. Her home was always open, her table always full and her heart always welcoming. Sunday family dinners were a treasured tradition – filled with good food, great laughter and always room for one more. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fellburn Care Centre. There are too many to mention, but their kindness and devotion will never be forgotten.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 1:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. Lunch will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Parkinson Society of British Columbia or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
