Lam Kam Pit was born November 8th, 1928 in the city of Canton, in Chung Shan Province, China. She was the youngest child of four siblings, all of whom were sisters. She married Lee Bing Nam in 1951. The couple had their only child, a daughter named Mabel Lee on August 3rd, 1954. In 1967, Lee Bing passed away suddenly. She worked hard in Hong Kong as a housekeeper and nanny to provide her daughter a happy life and education. Kam Pit was reunited with a former childhood friend whom she later married in 1975, Ho Hang. Following in the footsteps of her daughter, Kam Pit moved to Canada in 1982 to be reunited with Mabel, Kin and her 3 grandchildren, Vivian, Felix and Oscar (Maura).
Kam Pit was employed as a Nanny for many years in Canada. When she was not working, she endlessly cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lily, Nigel and Kyler. In her spare time, she volunteered at the International Buddhist Society in Richmond, BC. She would often spend her mornings in Buddhist prayer. She also spent many happy hours in her vegetable garden and loved giving away fresh vegetables to friends and family when they visited. Kam Pit loved life and often spent time socializing with her friends and providing for her family.
In early April 2018, Kam Pit was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Even though her health rapidly declined, she still put her family and friends ahead of her. She passed away peacefully May 13th, 2018 at Laurel Place Hospice in Surrey, BC. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
