With love and deepest sympathy,
I would like to say a few words about Kutkay.
Although we lived far apart and did not spend a great deal of time together, I have a memory of her that I will always cherish.
When I visited Istanbul for the first time, she took me to a traditional Hamam. She guided me through the experience with such ease and kindness. I followed her lead like a little sister, and we spent the time talking, laughing, and relaxing together on the warm marble. It was a simple moment, but one filled with warmth, joy, and connection.
That is how I will remember Kutkay: kind, welcoming, and generous in sharing herself with others.
We grieve her loss and wish that we had more time with her. But we are grateful for the time we did have, for the memories she leaves behind, and for the love she brought into the lives of her family and friends.
Kutkay, you were loved, and you will be remembered.
May you rest in peace.
