Uncle Larry was a very complex man, and you could tell that he had a lot on his mind. There were probably things that he wanted to say that felt very heavy while he was carrying it throughout his life. Emotions that he wanted to express that his pride withheld.
In the past couple of years, he started asking about family, both near and far, their health and what they were up to. He was concerned about keeping in contact with our relatives, and if we didn’t, he said there may come a time when family ties would be lost.
Uncle Larry did have a kind heart. It was hidden, and while he would not openly admit to it, he did care about family. The last few conversations I had with him, showed me a person that had to be strong for others and in doing so sometimes isolated him from the ones he loved. Maybe it was the times, maybe it was the hardships that he faced, or maybe it was just the situation that was thrust upon him that gave him the outside personality that most of us usually saw. But deep inside, there was someone that cared, that wanted to show some emotion, and most importantly, wanted family. So here we are today to remember him, his family.
Rest in Peace Uncle
