Born on March 8, 1934, in Guangdong Province, China, Danny immigrated to Canada in 1951, seeking new opportunities, building a life marked by hard work, dedication and devotion to his family. Through perseverance and determination, he created a legacy that will live on through the generations he helped shape.
Danny was the beloved husband of Anna Chau Ha Lee, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to Philip (Shelley), Wayne (Linda), and Leonard (Stephanie). Nothing brought him greater joy than his family, and he took immense pride in his role as grandfather to his six beautiful grandchildren: Brandon, Michael (Micayla), Michelle, Madison, Sophie, and Grayson.
Those who knew Danny will remember him for his kindness, resilience, warm smile, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. While he worked hard throughout his life, he always made time for the things that brought him joy. His greatest passion was ballroom dancing. Whether dancing gracefully across the floor with Anna or sharing his enthusiasm with friends, ballroom dancing brought him happiness, connection, and countless treasured memories. It was a passion that reflected his spirit, elegance, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Another great passion was the Vancouver Canucks. He was a season ticket holder since the early 1970s, and followed their ups and downs with anticipation, excitement and optimism. Danny also had a deep love for Mah-jong, a pastime that brought together friendship, laughter, and companionship. He cherished the countless hours spent playing Mah-jong with his beloved wife, Anna, and their many friends. Around the Mah-jong table, stories were shared, friendships were strengthened, and memories were created that he treasured throughout his life. These moments of camaraderie and joy were among his happiest and most meaningful.
Danny was predeceased by his father Wai Ching Lee, his mother Gee Tillan Lee and his elder sister Mei King Wong. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and we take comfort in knowing that they are reunited once again.
Danny's life was a testament to the values of family, perseverance and joy. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his wisdom, guidance, and example. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be remembered always and held forever in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
May he rest in peace.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."
