Ling was born on June 8, 1960 in Shanghai. She leaves behind her loving parents, He Ming Zhuang and Yuzhen Dong; her adoring husband and best friend of 35 years, Ming Jun Yu; her brother, Wei Zhuang; her son, Li Yu; her nephew, Ji Zhuang; and her two grandchildren, Emmanuelle Yu and Arnaud Yu. She rejoins her cherished “ta ta” or grandmother Xingrui Yuan.
Ling lived a life devoted to caring for those around her, whether at the nursing home where she worked for more than 30 years, or simply spending time with friends and doting on family. Ling was immersed in the church that would be her lifelong faith and support. She looked forward to every Sunday morning to draw nearer to God and her fellow Christian brothers and sisters. Her days were filled with laughter, music, and praying for her loved ones. In recent years, she dived headlong into newfound hobbies, including photography, travel, hiking, sports, and learning French. Some of her greatest joys came from catching the perfect sunrise on her camera, beating her husband at ping pong, and practicing a new French word each week with her two year old granddaughter.
Her family wishes to thank all those who cared for us these past days and kept our spirits up with kind words, heartfelt prayers, and delicious meals. A private service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Ocean View Funeral Home.
Donations may be made in Ling's memory to World Vision Canada or to your favourite charity.
