Luigi Cutri

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Luigi (Gino) Cutri at the age of 88. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted family who is deeply saddened by this great loss.

Born in Gioia Tauro, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Luigi was an amazing family man, Husband, Father, Zio and proud Nonno who was loved and respected by all. He was predeceased by his father Giuseppe, mother Rosa, brothers Vincenzo & Guido and sisters Tita & Rosa. Luigi is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Caterina; son Giuseppe (Maria Luisa), grandchildren Gino, Caterina; daughter Rosalba (Dominic), grandchildren Christina (Dave), Michelle, Danielle (Adam); son Giovanni (Adele), grandchildren Leanna (Kresimir), great-grandchild Mila, Alexa (Cole); daughter Carmela (Rick), grandchildren Madeleine, Ava; sister-in-laws Rosa Bevacqua & Maria Cutri; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. His infectious smile and open heart welcomed everyone in his presence. His love of social gatherings, winemaking, card playing, fishing and tending to his garden were some of his favourite pastimes that we will cherish forever.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and friendship throughout the years. A special thank you to Dad’s caregivers Anna Son and Francia Macasling, who tended to him with amazing devotion.

Visitation will take place on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Bell Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 12:00 pm (noon) at Saint Helen’s Church, 3860 Triumph St, Burnaby. Entombment is 2:00 pm at Ocean View Burial Park (South Mausoleum), 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
