Luigi Mazzocchio

Luigi was born on December 6, 1931 in Casteltermini, Sicily, one of 7 siblings. He passed away on June 14, 2025 at The Madison Care Home in Coquitlam at the age of 93 years.

Luigi was a proud and gentle man with a great sense of humour. He loved telling stories, tending to his garden and lawn, making homemade wine, but most of all his family.

Luigi immigrated to Canada in the early 1960’s with his big brother Alfio and settled in Vancouver where he started his family with his wife Carmelina.

He worked for Terminal City Ironworks for 37+ years as a foundry worker. He was an extremely hardworking man and was well respected by all who knew and worked with him.

Luigi was predeceased by his parents: Calogero and Concetta, his two sisters: Gina and Melina, and his three brothers Gaetano, Carmelo and Alfio.

Luigi is survived by his three sons Rino (Antonella), Jimmy (Michelle), and Franco (Helen), as well as his Grandchildren Carmela (Shahin), Sophia, Talia, Olivia, & Santino, and his wife Carmelina. He is also survived by his brother Franco (Pina) and several nieces & nephews in Italy, Switzerland, & Belgium.
