Luigina Gonzato

November 16, 1932 - November 23, 2025

It is with deep sadness that our family announce the passing of Gina, just one week after joyfully celebrating her 93rd birthday surrounded by family.

Gina was born in Chiampo, Vicenza Italy, to her parents Valentino & Edivigie Marchesini. She immigrated to Canada in 1953 to reunite with her first husband and begin their new lives together in East Vancouver. A homemaker all her life, she was a talented seamstress and had a passion for sewing for family, friends and the Italian community. Known for being a great cook, she also enjoyed preparing Sunday lunches and dinners for all to enjoy.

Predeceased by her parents; her first husband Mario Culpo; daughter Lida; great-grandson Carmen; and siblings Giovanni, Vittorio, Antonio and Pierrina.

Survived by husband Lino; children Dina (Carlo), Dario (Suzie), Lisa, Danny (Jewel) and Paul (Loredona); siblings Maria and Rina; grandchildren Paul (Tina), Michael (Susie), John, Marco, Trevor (Cass), Nicole, Jamie and Giuliana; and great grandchildren Phillip, Eleonora and Rolin. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and Italy.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ida Gallo for her many years of support and all the staff at Belvedere Care Center for Gina’s time there, especially her final few days.

Visitation to be held from 6:30-8:00pm on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 at St. Helen’s Parish, 3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at the Creekside Mausoleum – Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby.
