

A cherished husband and father, Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Louise and his five children, Debby, Kerry (Karen), Coreen, Jackie (Barry), George (Mel). Fred was predeceased by his son Gregory in 1988. Fred will also be lovingly remembered by his 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, members of the masonic family, co-workers and friends.
Fred immigrated from Germany at the age of 17 years and began his career with the CPR on the Kettle Valley railway. He retired from Vancouver Wharves as foreman of the railway in 2001. He was a loyal and dedicated family man and a faithful follower of the pursuits of his grandchildren. He was also very dedicated to his Masonic family, serving as Worshipful Master for North Star Lodge #167 and Dormer Lodge #191 and District Deputy Grand Master in 2004/2005. He is a Past Associate Grand Guardian of Job’s Daughters International and joined the Gizeh Shrine Clown Unit, brightening the lives of many children throughout the province as Choo Choo the Clown and the Shrine Santa. He was a great man who will be missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 25th, 2011 at 2:00pm at Gizeh Shrine Headquarters, 3550 Wayburne Ave., Burnaby, BC with Rev. Edith Baird officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Grand Lodge of British Columbia’s Cancer Car Program c/o 1495 West Eighth Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 1C9 Canada.
