A Life Well Lived
Lovingly remembered and dearly missed, Margaret passed away on April 5, 2023 at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and community.
Born in Hong Kong to Mr. Shu Ki Kwan and Mrs. Fung Yee Kwan, Margaret embarked on a journey at the age of 18, immigrating to Canada in search of new opportunities. She thrived as a young woman in Vancouver, finding success in her studies and later a husband in Andrew - with whom she shared over 40 years of joy as a partner in life.
As a wife and mother, Margaret was the heart and soul of her family. Her greatest happiness in life was her children - Ryan, Clive, and Douglas - whom she raised with unconditional love. From piano to Paris, Margaret worked tirelessly to ensure that her children lacked for nothing, while instilling in them her wisdom, kindness, and perseverance, lessons which will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Beyond her role as a wife and mother, Margaret was a pillar of strength in her community, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support in any way. Her home was a gathering place for loved ones, filled with laughter and delicious food. Her loyalty and devotion extended to her friends and colleagues, with whom she shared more than 30 years of cherished memories at the office, on trips abroad, and in day to day life.
Margaret’s passions enriched the lives of those around her. She had a love of travel, with an uncanny ability to leverage airline rewards points to enable her family’s adventures across the globe. But she also found joy in the simple pleasures such as playing the harmonica and doing yoga. Her laughter was contagious and her smile lit up a room, bringing warmth to all those around here.
Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many. But her life was one well lived and is an inspiration for those that survive her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren, and countless family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Margaret. Know that you were loved deeply. Know that you left an enduring legacy. Know that you will live in our hearts forever.
