Mario Picone, born in Montefredane, Italy December 25, 1926, gently passed away Vancouver, BC February 25, 2014 at the age of 87 years. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Silvia (nee Freda); brothers Amodeo, Alfonso, Angelo; sister Maria; son-in-law Franco, and brothers-in-law Giuseppe and Antonio. He leaves his only child Elsa; grandchildren Silvia and Paul (Corrine); and the joy of his life, great-grandchildren Frankie, Ava, and Cleveland. Also sharing our grief are his sisters-in-law Antonietta and Virginia, numerous nieces and nephews here and in Italy. We encourage donations to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers. Public viewing will be held Thursday, February 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel 4276 Hastings St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 525 S. Slocan St. Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, BC.
