Mie Passed away in Delta, BC on Tuesday February 24, 2015. She was born in Prince Rupert, BC to Morikichi and Nami Doi. She was predeceased by her husband Katsumi. She is survived by her sister Miki Matsumoto and by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mie grew up in the cannery villages of Haysport and Carlisle on the Skeena river in Northern BC. During WWII, her family was
relocated to internment at Slocan, BC. In 1945 she moved to Toronto, ON, where she enjoyed many years with a close circle of friends. Returning to BC, she lived her retirement years among family in Richmond. She met life’s challenges with patient inner strength and accepted life’s blessings with gratitude and enjoyment. We will fondly remember Aunt Mie as a gentle, kind person who generously shared her warm smile and laughter. A private family memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
