She was born on July 21, 1930 in Lee Hung village, Taishan, China and immigrated to Canada in August of 1965.
Mee Ying lived an amazing life filled with hardships, joy and love. Immensely proud of her family, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and leaves behind many beautiful memories. She lived her life to the fullest, enjoying badminton, mah-jong, travelling, gardening, and family gatherings.
She is survived by Ken, her husband of 72 years, her daughters Kit (Owen Chan) of Vancouver, and Shirley (Stanley Tam) of Abbotsford, and her son Jim (Deanna) of Vancouver. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Christina (John Virtusio), David Chan, Nicola (Doug Tam), Katina Tam, and Julianna Yue, and great-grandson, Noah Virtusio.
Mee Ying showed compassion and generosity every day. She will be deeply missed by everyone who held her in their hearts.
