

Mory Mei Yee Dong, 65, passed away peacefully at home in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday, May 14, 2017 after battling brain cancer since November 2015.
She was born March 5, 1952 in Shanghai, China and was a daughter of the late Sai Hong Dong and late Yook Lan Lee Dong. At age four, she moved with her family to Hong Kong where she attended primary school at St. Mary’s Canossian College. In November 1966, the whole family immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia. After graduating from Britannia High School, she continued her education at the University of British Columbia, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts.
In 1979, she joined the Finance and Procurement Department, Natural Resources Canada. She worked there for 35 years. She retired in June 2014.
Mory enjoyed good food and wine and liked to travel. She enjoyed cruising and went to several different countries. Watching reality TV shows was her favourite hobby. She had special talents in art and her fantastic memory for numbers was often useful in her employment.
She is survived by her husband, Luke Lau; sisters, Jean Lam, Maggie Defrance, and Mary Adlington; sister-in-law Lana Dong; and their families.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, sisters, relatives and close friends. Loving memories of her will always stay in their hearts.
