It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Michele Antonio Conte on March 18, 2022. Dad was born in San Marco la Catola, Foggia, Italy on January 20, 1938, and immigrated to Vancouver, BC in 1964. He met his wife (Carmela, deceased) shortly after and had 3 children (John, Teresa, Rita). He dedicated his life to his family to keep them together and provide the best childhood possible. There were many road trips with family to Nelson, BC, and camping trips to Penticton, BC to enjoy summer vacations along with a group of close friends. His greatest pleasure in life was watching his three grandchildren (Michael, Paul, Anthony) grow up, treating them out to dinner and enjoying many nights together playing cards.
After retiring, his favorite vacation destination was his annual trip to Hawaii where he enjoyed the sun and hanging out with his Italian friends at Waikiki beach. When at home, he loved to socialize and would spend each afternoon playing Italian cards with a group of friends at Confederation Park.
Michele will be lovingly remembered by his son John (Silvana), daughters Teresa (Patrick) and Rita (Michael), three grandchildren (Michael, Paul, Anthony), his companion of 16 years Pasqualina, his brother Tony and sister Emanuela (in Italy), along with his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
