Michi was a devoted wife and mother, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend who loved teaching, quilting, socializing, shopping, and travelling the world.
She is survived by daughters Deimi (Matthew), and Tamara (Jason), grandchildren Nicholas, Naomi and Aubrey, siblings Hajime (Lana), Gene (Dorothy), Kiyo (Cora), and nieces, nephews, & extended family. Michi was predeceased by her loving husband Larry, parents Zenichi & Yoshi, sister Aki (Conrad) and brother Shaw.
We are grateful to the wonderful staff at Chenchenstway care home for their compassionate care and for always making mom laugh.
A service to celebrate Michi’s life will be held at Ocean View funeral home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC on Sunday, August 30th at 1:00pm with a viewing at 12:00pm for those who wish. Reception to follow.
