Thinking of the Jones family in this time of remembrance of their loving mother

To the Jones Family, who were all so very special to me; I am so sorry to have just learned of Maria’s death. Norman and Maria were always two of my most favourite clientele at The Blue Peter in Sidney, BC. I have been caring for my own Mom since I left Bistro-Suisse (which closed down once Covid hit). I have Norman’s phone number and should love to say hello. I have many many fond memories of their meals and times at the Blue Peter Restaurant. Such a wonderful woman. Always so generous. They would buy me a cocktail so I could sit and chat after my work was done. Enjoyed meeting Jeff and Nancy many times, plus some of the grandchildren. We shall reunite in Heaven some day, so let’s tip our glasses to when we shall meet again... Lovingly remembered by Désirée Albrecht

We feel honored & will cherish our memories of Maria. Maria had a way of making people feel special.  If Maria did not know your name she would promptly ask, acknowledging  you with respect. If you referred to someone as he/she Maria would soon point out, "They have a name you know."

Maria will be remembered with utmost Love & Admiration. Her name will always bring a smile to those who knew her.

So sorry to hear that Auntie Muriel has passed.
I hold fond memories of our trips to Vancouver and spending time with all of you.
Your tribute movie was beautiful, thank you for sharing all the wonderful memories.
I'm thinking of you all and I hold Auntie Muriel's memory  in my heart.
Distance still separates us but we are forever family.

Living in Okanagan Falls, we only got to see the Jones's in the summertime (at least it seemed that way to me back in those days), but oh my....what a long summer. I think the Jones's stayed from July 1st until September 1st (at least it seemed that way to me back in those days). And I loved it!!!
If I recall correctly, it was the summer of '72 when a particular song became a huge hit. "Me and Mrs Jones". And of course being the young and goofy boys that we were (maybe it was  just me) and not even a clue what the song was about,  we would break into that song everytime Mrs. Jones appeared! Poor Muriel. She had to deal with us nutty guys, but she did it so gracefully and with a kind smile and a laugh, and then she would just say "you silly boys". 
I remember how kind she was, even when Jeff and I caused mischief, or should I rephrase that and say, when I got Jeff into mischief (at least it must have seemed that way to Jeff back in those days). 
There's a special place in my heart for the Jones' family. Uncle Norm, Jeff and Nancy. I love you guys. Thankyou for allowing me to share in your lives. Remember.... God's grace is sufficient for us.
 I miss those years and fun times with the Jones's,  but " when we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!"

Dear Norman, Jeff, and Nancy, 

I like no other, understand your pain and express my sympathy for the irreparable loss. 

I know what it's like to lose a loved one. Two years ago during the same month, August, my mother passed away... Then Maria sympathized with me and prayed for my mother's soul to rest. It felt as if she partially replaced my own mother… 

I always said to Jeff, "Take care of your mom and appreciate every moment you spend together." And he did. He tried to visit her as often as possible, called her every day, helped cheer her up and joked around with her. The last year was hard for her, she mostly did not leave her bedroom ... And in order to entertain her a little, we brought our dog, Bentley. She loved him very much and was always excited to see him, he made her very happy. 
Everyone knows how she had a unique sense of humor. She was very attentive and always picked up on everything, never being afraid to speak her mind. I've always been amazed by her strong willpower and desire to live. She never complained of pain and always wore a smile and joked around while enduring adversity. She was a very strong woman. 

And how stylish she was! Always dressed with taste and gave good advice to others. She never went out without being well groomed and made up, not even to the kitchen. She was widely respected. Her decisions, opinions, and support meant a lot to everyone around her. 

She was a real Lady and our queen! 

I'm glad Maria was in my life. I love her and I will miss her very much...

Muriel was one of those people who was real, she never seemed to change.  Her smile and her free spirit were hallmarks of who she was. She especially blessed us when we came home for our first furlough as missionaries in Nigeria. I was feeling awkward and unlovely and she made me feel  valued and  honored.  Now she is free indeed, free from pain and sorrow, safe with her  Heavenly Father.   May the peace  of God strengthen and bless all who loved her.

Tio, Jeff, and Nancy:

My heart goes out to you.  Tia was such a beautiful, classy lady.   She will be missed by many people.  She was very loyal and loved her family intensely.  I will always remember how we could never slip into a restaurant because the staff would come running from every nook and cranny to greet her.  She cared about the people she met and they knew it.  I have so many happy memories of the crazy escapades she would get us into.  I often think about her when I remove the tea bag from my morning tea.  I say to myself: "Don't bruise the tea" and then I smile.    I miss her and am praying for you to have peace and comfort.

I have many fond memories of Auntie Muriel, yourself and Nancy and Jeff at Grandma and Grandpa Jones' house in West Vancouver enjoying their pool and hospitality on warm summer afternoons and evenings.  

I hope you find solace in your many decades of wonderful memories.
