Mut Yung Chan was born on November 7, 1930 in Kwoong Mei Joon, Poon Yu, Guangzhou, China. At the age of 93, she peacefully left us on December 6, 2023.
Her life was filled with love, commitment, and family. For over 50 years, she shared a beautiful journey with her beloved husband, Peter Chuck Yin Chan. Together, they lovingly raised two daughters, Mary (Henry) and Fannie (Ricardo), and had four grandchildren, Cheryl (Brandon), Jennifer, Joshua, and Lauren.
Mut Yung and her husband were the backbone of a thriving market garden business, pouring long hours and dedication into its success. In their well-deserved retirement, they embraced adventures, relishing cruises and exploring new destinations.
She enjoyed spending time tending to her vegetable garden where she was often in competition with her daughters to see who could grow the biggest Winter Melon. She always beat out her daughters.
She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. She would often cook up a storm for her family, instilling that a good meal would bring the family together. As her grandchildren grew older, she would teach them how to cook her delicious food.
Going to the Casino to play slot machines and smelt fishing were also other hobbies that gave her so much joy and happiness.
