The evening of June 18th brought the tragic affair of Nerissa Marucut’s passing. A petite-yet-unyielding woman with a grand sense of wanderlust, Nerissa spent countless years sailing the immensity of the oceans and wandering all countries in between. Amongst her travels, she had fallen completely in love with a man named Eliazer to which they would soar across the continents together, always holding each other with tender resolve - oftentimes to the melodies of Frank Sinatra, oftentimes in silence. Nerissa and Eliazer had two wonderful daughters in The Philippines before relocating to Vancouver in the mid-sixties. Here, she devoted thirty years to servicing the ailed as a registered nurse within Vancouver’s many hospitals. Nerissa lived eighty four years on this earth. Each day of hers had been spent loving relentlessly, dancing past the suggestions of sunrise, and gifting the world’s many streets with the embrace of her footsteps. Each mere second spent alongside her blooming smile was one to be savoured and treasured within the libraries of memory. Her hands now clasped within her dear husband’s once again, the eternal darlings may be found waltzing through the constellations, upon gleaming stars more elegant than any ballroom.
