OBITUARY

Ms. Oi Kam Anna Li

4 November, 1957 – 23 February, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Anna Oi Kam Li, who was the center of gravity to her family, and a pillar in the garments industry of Vancouver, BC, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 23, 2024.

Married for 42 years to her devoted husband, Ernest Lo, or as she likes to jokingly call him – her ‘Siri’, she is also survived by her first daughter Iris Lo, son-in-law Ampere Chan, and their children Madison and Kaia; her second daughter Demi Lo, son-in-law Eric Leong, and their child Keanu; as well as her siblings, Esther, Brenda, Candice, Denise, Bernard, together with their respective spouses, children, and grandchildren.

Born to Leung Ngan and Lee Man Hop in Hong Kong, she was the oldest of seven. Being the big sister, she was a natural born leader with a strong instinct to protect those around her. She found her talent and passion in fashion during the heyday of production in Hong Kong, she carried this passion through the rest of her life-long career in garment manufacturing. It’s been said by many of her industry peers that Anna was an icon of their field in Vancouver. She championed small businesses, especially women-led startups, often taking young founders under her wing and becoming a mentor to them.

In her personal life, she was the great guardian of her family, friends, and colleagues alike. She loved life, and love having people to share life with even more. A bighearted person with a playful, sassy attitude, Anna made friends everywhere she went. Her fun-loving nature and sunny disposition made her the life of the party, and she loved a dinner party. She left every restaurant door as a VIP, even if it was her first time ever entering the restaurant. Even more impressive was her ability to care for people and keep them in her life through the decades, with her some of best friends still those she met at six years old.

With her unforgettably booming voice and even louder laugh, many of those who crossed her paths have called her “a force of nature”. She will be remembered for ceaseless optimism, her enthusiasm for food and travel (especially to Japan), her undeniable kindness, and boundless generosity.

Anna lived a full life, filled with love, and just before she left, she was baptized with water and spirit. She will be profoundly missed. May we see her again in heaven.
