STAMNES, Evelyn Maud Patricia (Patsy) Sep 14, 1929 - Mar 25, 2022 Our dear Mom was born in Belfast to John and Gretta Frith. (Siblings, Mel, Olive, and Ernie). In 1938 her family moved to Vancouver and they settled in the West End. She attended Lord Roberts, and sang in the choir at Christ Church Cathedral. She had the heart and the voice of an angel. She attended Fairview School of Commerce, and her first job was at the Marine Building, and later at her beloved Woodward's. My Dad first saw her on a Main Street streetcar. He loved the way her auburn hair bounced as she walked. Somehow he arranged to meet my Mom at a later date and gave her a big smooch on that first meeting. From that moment on she knew he was the one. Growing up in Burnaby we could not have asked for a more perfect childhood. Their love lasted 55 years and they were always the most beautiful, supportive parents. We were so very lucky. Though 92 and very weak, she never gave up. It was a deep love of her grandchildren, and now, great grandchildren which kept her going. Every night before she went to sleep she said, I love You, Thank you for everything, and there was always a prayer for her dear Harold and beloved son, Sean. Mom, you were the kindest, sweetest, most perfect Mom and we will always love you. You are now the top angel. Found among her things: "Farewell, dear children, my life is past, I dearly loved you, to the last, Weep not for me, nor sorrow take, but love each other for my sake". Survived by Daughters Carrie, Sheila and Lisa, Grandchildren, Sarah (Dean), Jeff (Rachelle), Robert, Troy and Tara, Thomas, Tyler and Devon, nieces, nephews, many loving friends. A special thank you to Dr. Margo Sweeny. Service to be held at Deer Lake United Church, 5135 Sperling, 1pm, April 8th. In lieu of flowers please donate to Deer Lake United Church.
