It is with very deep sadness that we annouce the passing of our loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and daughter Pauline Lam Yuk-Chu Shum, who died suddenly in her Richmond home late in the evening on Friday, February 12, 2010. Pauline was the dearly beloved wife of Alfred Hing Shun Shum and loving mother of son Alan Hau Lun and daughter Peggy Hau Pui. After being diagnosed with cancer in its final stage, Pauline was given the prognosis of only having another six to nine months left to live. She did not let this news discourage her from living her life to the utmost, and fought hard and lived for more than seven more victorious years. She was an optimist and she was able to see cancer as a blessing in her life. She travelled the world with many friends and family members. Pauline has made a lasting impression on many people around the world, who will all sorely miss her untimely departure. We all miss and love you Pauline and will always have you in our hearts and minds. Friends will be received by the family at Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby BC, V5G 3M1. The viewing will be held on Thursday, February 18th between 5-7 pm and a funeral service will begin at 2 pm on Friday, February 19th.
