Mrs. Quintina Bove

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Quintina. A dedicated wife, caring mother, nonna, and bis-nonna. She peacefully departed this earth and into the Lord’s embrace, surrounded by her loving family. A dedicated wife to Oreste, loving mother to Joe (Anna), Sergio (Silvia), and Delia (Michael). An adoring and cherished Nonna to Giacomo (Kiran), Oreste (Carrie), Nadia, Diana (Joe), Gianna (Mike), and Julia (Love). As well as a loving bis-nonna to nine great-grandchildren. Also left behind is her beloved sister, Maria. Zia Maria was devoted to her sister from the very beginning of her life to her very last moments. Coming from a large family, the loss is also felt by Zio Pietro, multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, extended families, and friends.

Mom was a determined woman, she crossed an ocean for the betterment of her family and moved mountains so children could get ahead. She went without, so her family could have more.

Always the queen of her kitchen, she doted over every meal. Her table, one would be honoured to be seated at. Always a kitchen wizard, created memories by the spoonful. A trusted individual that was a confidant to many that were close to her. She put her faith in God and lived by the words, “dio provede”. She was a force of nature, if there ever was one.

Through the storms, the trials, the peace, the laughter, the tears, and the joys. We as a family would walk the cobblestones with bare feet to walk with you once more. Fortunate are the ones who have had the privilege of knowing you. As a true Celanese would say, “a quand cce revedem”, it's never goodbye.

Many thanks to the medical teams at Vancouver General Hospital, Dr. Thompson at the diabetes clinic and the dedicated caregivers on the ninth floor of the Windermere Care Center.
