February 10th, 1948 ~ August 4th, 2011
It is with great sadness, and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Reg, after a six week stay at Burnaby Hospital, ICU. He left us much too soon, at sixty-three, due to complications from a genetic disorder, called Mitochondrial disease.
Survived by his loving wife Lorraine (Ferrari), and much loved sons, David and Neil, and faithful companion, Dax (Shmobie). Also survived by his loving father, Rev. Donald Jackson, and Aunt Lola Jackson; sisters, Elaine Jackson, Jackie Peebles (David), Lola Player, and brother Bobby (Robyn); brothers-In-Law, Don Ferrari (Paddy), and David Ferrari. He leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many old and wonderful friends. Reg was predeceased by his beloved mother, Thelma Jackson (Ivison) in 2009.
Reg was born in Vancouver, and had a wonderful, adventurous childhood. Reg LIVED to tease, a trait he honestly inherited from his mother. He was kind, generous, unselfish, and non-judgemental, and very laidback. Reg faced his debilitating medical condition with quiet strength, and dignity, and his keen sense of humour kept the medical staff entertained. Thank you to Dr. John Rideout for 32 years of exceptional care.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Friday, August 12th, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow in the Tea Lounge of the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Burnaby Hospital ICU, in memory of Reg for their extraordinary, and compassionate care.
