

Reynaldo Veloro Ofreneo passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Burnaby, British Columbia, at the age of 86.
Born on August 5, 1939, in San Pablo City, Philippines, Reynaldo was the beloved son of Albino and Mercedes Ofreneo. He built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Reynaldo began his career with Mobil Oil in the Philippines, where he worked until 1979. In 1980, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, with his three oldest children to begin a new chapter for his family. Soon after, he was joined by his beloved wife, Lucy Abaya Ofreneo, and their two youngest children. He later joined the Legal Services Society, where he worked faithfully for more than 30 years before retiring.
Above all else, Reynaldo was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Roan Francis Ofreneo, in 1999.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of more than 58 years, Lucy Abaya Ofreneo; his sons Rommel, Reginald, Roderick, and Roseller; his daughters-in-law Michelle, Marian, Emma, and Tami; and his cherished grandchildren Calle, Tyler, Bianca, Joaquin, Ai, Ren, Benjamin, Misa, and Owen. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
In his quieter moments, Reynaldo could often be found happily working through endless Sudoku puzzles, a pastime that reflected his patient, thoughtful nature.
Reynaldo will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his strong work ethic, and the love and guidance he shared throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
