July 14th, 1913 – August 28th, 2010
It is with great sadness we announce the gentle passing of our beloved Dad and Grandfather, Roy. Predeceased by his loving wives Ruth and Edith and his brother Douglas. He leaves to celebrate his “97 years of a life well lived” his daughter Laurie (Ernie), his grandson Wesley (Theresa) and great grandchildren Mitchell and Regan. Born in Victoria, his family settled in Vancouver where he worked for the Hudson Bay Company for 50 years, taking a leave of absence to serve in WWII with the RCAF. He was stationed in India and Burma and later became a member of the Burma Star Association, enjoying the fellowship of dear friends. He was an avid gardener, an accomplished wine maker and enjoyed his hobby of bee keeping immensely. A special thanks to Dr. Daniel Wong and the staff at Willow Manor for their support, care and kindness. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Sept. 11th, 2010 at 11am at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the B.C.S.P.C.A.
Arrangements under the direction of Ocean View Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC.
