Sam was born in Zhongshan, Guangzhou, China, on October 29, 1934, and passed away in Vancouver, B.C., on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the age of 90.
Sam leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years Alice, and daughters Patty (David), Karen (John) and Brenda (Edwin). A devoted family man, he is fondly remembered by his six grandchildren Nicole, Brandon, Elyse, Emily, Liam and Lucas. He was predeceased by his son Stephen.
A funeral service and burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home (3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby) starting at 1 p.m. There will be a Celebration of Life banquet at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or BC Cancer Foundation in memory of Sam.
