Sherea was predeceased by her loving parents, Helen and Sam Barwell.
She was a loving kindergarten teacher who dedicated her whole teaching career to the Burnaby School District #41. Sherea’s other true love was playing the bagpipes. She was a longtime member of the Vancouver Ladies Pipe Band, beginning as a young piper in the band, moving up to Pipe Sergent and in 1969 becoming Pipe Major of the band. Sherea took so much pride of not only being an excellent piper but being a member of the band.
Sherea leaves to mourn many long and loyal friends who will miss her terribly.
We would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Burnaby Hospital Oncology Department who treated Sherea with such wonderful care over the last two years, and a thank you to the Doctors and Nurses in Ward 2D in Burnaby Hospital who cared for Sherea with such unbelievable love and care in her final few days.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, at 1:00 pm. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC. In memory of Sherea, Donations may be made to Burnaby Hospital Foundation, 3935 Kincaid Street, Burnaby, BC, V5G 2X6.
