So Tran

Born in the city of Chaozhou in Guangdong Province, China, So moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with her late husband at a young age, where they built a life and raised their family. She was a devoted mother to her four children and dedicated her life to caring for and providing for her family. In 1995, she immigrated to Canada and made Vancouver her home, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

So was a beloved mother to her late daughters, Muoi Vuu and Ngoc Muio Vuu, and a cherished grandmother to Michael, Tony, and Helen, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Hannah, Autumn, and Madison.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially cooking, gardening, and watching her favourite Chinese and Hong Kong dramas. She found great joy in preparing home-cooked meals and spending quality time with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her famous Vietnamese crepes and a dessert called Che Dau (a sticky rice pudding with black eyed peas and coconut milk) which brought many happy memories to those fortunate enough to enjoy them.

So leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, strength, and kindness. Her long life was a testament to the importance of family, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A private commemoration of life with her surviving family members and cremation service will take place on September 29, 2026.
