SORIANO, Stefano

December 28, 1964 – April 9, 2023

With his loving family beside him, after a valiantly fought battle with esophageal cancer, Steph peacefully slipped from this world into the solace of Heaven for everlasting life.

He was preceded in death by his father Bruno and is survived by his loving wife Maria, his mother Avelia and his brothers Nicolino and Marco.

Stefano was born in Colonnella, Teramo, Italy on the 28th of December 1964 and emigrated to Vancouver BC, with his parents and brother at the age of two. A true East Van boy, he attended Gladstone Secondary where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Maria. He graduated in 1982, and they were married in October of 1995. They shared 43 years together.

Steph was passionate, quick witted and charismatic. He was a storyteller who loved to make others laugh. He had a passion for travel and with his wife, visited many ports of call around the world. He will be remembered for his sense of adventure, his vibrancy and his fierce love of his ‘famiglia’.

Our deepest appreciation to all those at BC Cancer Agency, St. Paul’s Palliative Care and St. John Hospice, who with their unending care and support for Steph, brought solace and comfort in the final leg of his journey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 29th at 1:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver BC.
