Tara Emilia Merandi

Tara was a beautiful soul, inside and out. She was a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and loyal friend. She had a generous heart and cared deeply about her community, especially those who were less fortunate or in need. As an entrepreneur, Tara continually found ways to give back and to be of service to others. Helping people was not simply something she did—it was part of who she was.

Tara was never afraid to speak her mind or stand up for what she believed was right. She was strong, passionate, and fiercely loyal to the people and causes she cared about. At the same time, she had a gentle heart and an incredible ability to make others feel cared for. She was fun to be around, could make people laugh when they needed it most, and was always willing to offer a shoulder to cry on.

Although Tara suffered tremendously before her passing, she never lost her fighting spirit or her capacity for love and compassion. Her strength, courage, generosity, and beautiful spirit will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.

Tara leaves behind and will be deeply missed by her loving parents, Antonio and Jacqueline, her sister Teresa, her brother Eric and sister-in-law Sophie and her Nonna (grandmother), Isabella. She also leaves behind an extended family of dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many cherished friends to count—each of whom carries their own special memories of Tara in their hearts.

Tara was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Harry Mornfini, Edith Morfini and Salvatore Merandi.

Her time with us was far too short, but the love she gave was immeasurable. The impact she had on the lives of others will continue long after her passing. Tara will be remembered for her beautiful heart, her fierce spirit, her loyalty, her laughter, and the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved.

She fought with courage, loved with her whole heart, and gave more of herself than most will ever know.

She will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Helen's Parish, 3860 Triumph St, Burnaby, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Entombment will follow Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby

Reception will follow at the Italian Cultural Centre, 3075 Slocan St, Vancouver at 2:30 pm.
