It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Teresa Bernardini, who peacefully passed on August 2nd at the age of 91. Teresa was the matriarch of our family, a woman whose life was defined by her devotion to those she loved. Family was the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy. Through her kindness, strength, wisdom, and generosity, she created a legacy of love that will continue to guide us.
Born into a family of five siblings, Teresa was predeceased by her beloved sisters and brothers, Lucia, Nicola, Giuseppe and Maria. She was also predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Italo, who passed away five years ago. Together, Teresa and Italo shared an extraordinary 61 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, dedication, and family. While her heart never stopped missing him, she found comfort in the memories they created together and in the family they created. Teresa leaves behind her devoted sons, Fausto and Sandro, and her daughters-in-law, Heather and Sandra. She was a proud and adoring Nonna to Alexander (Alexia), Dante, and Sebastian, who brought immense happiness to her life. She is survived by many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Italy. Nothing made Teresa happier than spending time with her family, sharing a meal, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Those who knew Teresa will remember her spirit, her resilience, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed. She taught us the importance of family, compassion, hard work, and finding joy in life's simple moments. Her love was unconditional, and her heart was large enough to hold everyone she met. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
