With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, Theresa Sue Louie on the morning hours of January 27, 2026 at the glorious age of 108.
Theresa was born in Victoria, B.C. and at nine years of age, she travelled to China with her mother in 1926, remaining there through her teenage years.
She returned to Canada at the age of 18, married to Wah Hoy Louie, our father, who predeceased her in 1970.
Family meant everything and she was a loving mother of 5 children, Betty (1936-2008), Holly, Janny, Nick & Alinda. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Including spouses, her family member numbers are currently at 87!
She cherished family visits and our family reunions.
She will always be remembered as being an independent, fun loving, individual with a great sense of humor who also loved to travel.
The family are thankful for the staff at Haro Park Care home where she resided for the last 2 ½ years and was treated with kindness and respect. Also to the many family & friends who visited her there.
The funeral service is scheduled for February 14, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, B.C. V5G3M1.
Interment will follow at 2:30 pm.
