With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Trudy, who passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, with her devoted husband, Ross, by her side.
Born and raised in Pembroke, Ontario, Trudy grew up with a love of life and a competitive spirit. As a young woman, she excelled in track and field, winning numerous races and showing the determination that would become one of her defining qualities.
Life eventually led Trudy and Ross across Canada, where together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their marriage was a true partnership, and through every new adventure they remained each other's greatest source of strength and companionship.
Above all else, Trudy's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, John and Shawn, a caring mother-in-law to Jocelyn and Jen, and an incredibly proud grandmother to Alicia, Malcolm, Jodie, Joselle, Jayden, and Jordan. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with those she loved, and her family will forever carry her kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love in their hearts.
Trudy will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sharon and Shelby; her brothers, Danny, Donny, and George Jr.; along with her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and valued, and her generous heart touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
For more than 40 years, Trudy dedicated herself to serving others through her work with the government and later with Rogers Communications. Whether at work or at home, she was known for her warmth, gentle nature, sense of humour, and genuine kindness.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—camping with family, enjoying a game of Scrabble or bingo, listening to Ross play the guitar, and settling in to watch her favourite television shows, including Coronation Street, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Wheel of Fortune. These everyday moments, shared with the people she loved, were the ones she treasured most.
Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we are deeply grateful for the years we shared with her and for the love she gave so freely. Her compassion, laughter, and unwavering love will remain with us always. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her.
Trudy's love was the steady kind that made everyone around her feel at home. She will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
