It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Candice; children, Derek, Nichole, Adam, Brittany, and Vanessa; grandchildren, Nya, Linden, and Oliver; sister, Theresa; brother-in-law, Ben; mother-in-law, Alice; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and extended family.
Vince was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and attended a boarding school in Perth, Australia. After immigrating to Canada with his parents, sister, and grandmother, he graduated from Britannia Secondary School and continued on to UBC where he pursued a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology. He later graduated from UBC in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and married the love of his life. Together, Vince and Candice raised their three children, Derek, Adam, and Vanessa, while building his successful career as a pharmacist/owner of three Shopper’s Drug Mart stores in Richmond, BC.
After his retirement, Vince enjoyed the rest of his life with his favourite things: his family, the church, and the casino. He beamed with pride watching his children succeed and loved to spoil his grandchildren, Nya, Linden, and Oliver. He cherished every dim sum lunch and family dinner at Yan’s. His yearly goal was to gather his family for vacations to give his grandchildren new experiences. Vince was also very dedicated to his faith as he regularly attended mass and volunteered much of his time to teach and help the parish. And last, but certainly not least, Vince loved spending time with his best friends studying the race horses and eating very reasonably priced meals with his senior’s discount.
Vince will always be remembered as a kind, loyal, and faithful man with a great sense of humour. He will be deeply missed.
Prayers will be held on July 4th at 7:00 pm along with a funeral mass on July 5th at 10:30 am at St. Theresa’s Parish. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vince’s life. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asked to make a donation to St. Theresa’s Parish or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
