

Wayne passed away Friday evening, August 5, 2016 at the age of 96. He was born on July 10, 1920 in Kaiping, Guangdong, China. He attended university in China and graduated with an economics degree. He immigrated to Vancouver in 1949 initially to attend UBC. He was reunited with his wife Shirley 10 years later.
Wayne lived in Vancouver for the last 67 years, working and raising a family. He worked in many jobs, most prominently at the Chinese Times newspaper. He was involved in the community, serving as the President of the Lee Gong Kai Association, the Director of the Lee's Benevolent Association of Canada, and was one of the founding members of the Lee Athletic Club. He could be found promoting the Chinese culture to the local community and was known for his calligraphy.
He is predeceased by his parents, numerous siblings, and friends and survived by his loving family, wife Shirley, children Gordon (Helen), Eugene (Anne), Lincoln (Laura-Lee), Eva (Ben) and grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, Nicole, Joshua, Nathan, Olivia, and Brandon. Wayne is also survived by a sister, King Goo Loo (Fong Suk) and her family including nephews, a niece and many great nephews and great nieces.
Service will be held Tuesday, August 16 at 11:00 am at the Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street in Burnaby. An entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com
