Roy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 3, 2005, at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with cancer. His fun-loving and generous nature will always be remembered and Roy will be sadly missed by his four sons; Jason Bryan Blake and Donny; fiancée Julie; former wife Ruth; mother Georgina; sisters Helen (husband Steve) and Margaret (husband Jim) and nephews and nieces Courtnay Josh Kelsey Jordan and Meghan as well as many other family and friends.
Roy grew up in Burnaby, lived a great portion of his life in Richmond raising his four sons and managing a vending and catering business. Over the last few years his greatest joys were spending time in Friday Harbour with Julie as well as enjoying recreational time at his cabin in Tulameen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Society in Roy’s memory. Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak, Burnaby, at 2:30 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2005.
