I must admit I am shocked and saddened. I had been attempting to call Wing to play some golf and found his phone disconnected. I saw this obituary and after going through the photo album found several pictures from our vacation to LA and Disneyland that I had taken back in 2000. My deepest condolences to the family. I learned today of the passing of a longtime friend whom I haven't seen since August 2012.  I was unaware of the situation and am shocked and saddened by this news.

In our 20s and 30s we would regularly jam on guitars together and at one point we were in the same cover band playing classic rock and top 40 songs.  He was a very talented individual who had a terrific ear and could pick out subtle musical nuances within songs and reproduce them perfectly on guitar.  I was not quite capable of the same level of professionalism and would often have to ask him to transcribe parts on my behalf.

My deepest condolences to the Mung and extended family.  Wing will be greatly missed by me and many others.  Rest In Peace, My Friend...

Wingman!  Wing was the best man at my wedding just over 17 years ago.  We had just been looking at photos when we heard the sad news.  I regret losing touch with Wing after moving away.  I will miss Wing's humor, laughter and friendship, but I will treasure the time we had together.  The world is a less happy place without you Wingman, you will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

I was very close to Wing during high school in Kitimat. We shared a lot of laughs, long telephone calls, fun times at school. Even though we lost touch I have always carried him in my thoughts, with a smile on my face. I am deeply saddened that I will never see him again. My condolences to his family, wife and child. RIP, Wing. You were loved.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Wing.  I had the pleasure of attending BCIT with Wing and staying in touch thru his days with Fairmont Hotels.

Unfortunately, time passed and we lost touch - and efforts to relocate him (especially for our 20th BCIT reunion last year!) were unsuccessful.

I'll always remember Wing - for his gentle nature, his infectious smile and his little shoulder lifting chuckle.  Rest in peace Wing....

I met Wing at BCIT in 1989. As “orphans” from far-flung reaches of BC, we became brother and sister through Chilcotin House in Maquinna Residence. Through the ups and downs of school, career, love and life, Wing always seemed to find the humour and create laughter among his friends. He will be deeply missed.  Rest peacefully, dear friend. Thoughts and sympathy for the Mung family, Wing's friends, colleagues and loved ones.

I am feeling great sadness over the loss of one of my closest friends from Kitimat.  I don't know how many times I have thought about or told others of all the memories that Wing and the gang from MESS created growing up with eachother.  Sharing a home with Wing and Joe in Burnaby during our college days were some of the most treasured times I can remember.  Like others, I deeply regret that I didn't see Wing and his family in more recent years, but there always seemed to be a reason to postpone that call.  Wing, you will be remembered as a class act and forever friend.  Miss you, Ping.

Wing was a good friend in high school,anyone who knew him liked him very much.

I first met Wing in grade 1 in Kitimat, BC and we graduated from high school together. We'd lost touch over the last few years, but I would run in to him from time to time and always enjoyed catching up again, if only for the brief time our paths crossed. I have many fond memories of our friendship over the years. He was quite the character. I will miss him.

Wing was one of my closest friends during and after high school.  Unfortunately we kind of lost touch the last few years.  I'm really regretting that right now.  I always thought eventually we'd get together for a beer or something and that there was plenty of time for that.  How wrong I was.  Life is so fragile.  I guess it's true what they say about life being the stuff that happens while we're making plans.  I didn't even know he was ill.
In looking through the photos, I'm pleased to see the picture of the four of us in the parking lot.  Mike C., myself, Brad M., and Wing, after lunch at a pub in Surrey.  When I think of it, that was the last time I saw him in person.  Sadly that was 8 years ago, Christmas 2005.  It's heartwarming to know he cherished the photo enough to keep it this long.  Thank you for putting it on the site. 
Wing was a first-rate person and I'll miss his always-pleasant demeanour, his great sense of humour, and his friendship.  He left us far too soon and I still can hardly believe it.  My thoughts are with the Mung family.  All the best.

Wing was a very close friend of my younger brother, Mike, so Wing spent a lot of time in our home in elementary and high school.  He was a great person, always ready to offer a helping hand.  I was very saddened to hear this morning of his passing.  My heart goes out to his family and especially his wife Alice and young son Ayden.  I really enjoyed looking at the photos on this site and seeing his beautiful face in happier times.  That's how I will always remember him...fondly.

I had the pleasure of knowing Ming since we started grade 8 band together, sitting side by side for four years tooting our horns and laughing behind the wind section when they got caught not paying attention and we got away with it! He was encouraging and kind and hilarious and loyal and always happy. I will always cherish the memories I hold of him. My condolences to the whole family.

We had the pleasure of working with Wing for 5 years a the Waterfront and during those 5 years Wing became a great friend.  He was there for us through a very difficult time and always had the ability to make us laugh until our stomachs hurt...he was an amazing guy who we thought of often after our move to Victoria.  Wing, we wish you peace on your new journey and hope you know how much you touched those around you while you were here.

Words simply cannot express how deeply saddened I am to learn of the passing of my dear friend Wing. I had the pleasure of working with Wing at the Fairmont Waterfront for about 15 years. Wing was a great guy to work, a good friend, witty, humourous and had a talent for remembering obscure facts. Its really been tough to see a guy like him go. He was one of the boys. He touched all of us here at work and I am sure there were many others. I knew Wing since late 2010, but there was one thing he told me that I will never forget. It was one of those late evenings at work where he mentioned that "you should never lower your standards for anyone and stand up for what you believe in". That was special. We will never forget you ! We will always admire you for your strength and courage ! God bless.
