Loving father of Borui, Hongrui and Hang. Cherished grandpa of Makoto, April, Iris and Xiao. Xinyan will be fondly remembered by his sons-in-law, Yale and Dennis; sadly missed by his brothers, Jiangyan, Liangyan and Mengyan, and Xinyan’s extended family and many friends. Xinyan was blessed to have many wonderful friends throughout his life. Many of these friends he met while working as an educator for nearly 40 years.
Xinyan was a long time music lover, he played clarinet and many other instruments, he loved composing, writing lyrics and conducting bands, this passion led him to work as a high school music teacher. Xinyan was an avid book lover and a life long learner. He had a passion for literature and loved to learn about languages, he was fluent in Russian and even translated numerous Russian literature into Chinese.
Xinyan was known by all to be a wonderful cook, he enjoyed dinners and time with his family and many cherished friends. Xinyan also got great joy out of being a handy man around the house.
Xinyan enjoyed sports, he was a great soccer player, skater and a life long hockey fan.
Xinyan will be greatly missed by all who got the honor to spend time with him during his many adventures of life.
