He is lovingly remembered by his son Tony and daughter-in-law Veronica, and by his daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Michael.
Yau Cheong began his working life as a photographer for a local newspaper in Hong Kong before joining the Royal Hong Kong Police. He served with distinction in the Photography section and later in the Forensic Photography department, retiring in 1985 after a long career in public service.
Outside of work, he enjoyed football, excelled at mahjong, and was an enthusiastic follower of horse racing. In retirement, he developed a passion for horticulture and briefly ran a small business in Fairview Park, Yuen Long.
In 1993, he immigrated to Canada with his family, settling in Richmond, British Columbia. There, he reconnected with old friends, made many new ones, and embraced life with quiet optimism and contentment.
He will be remembered for his steady presence and his enduring enjoyment of life.
