I am writing this on behalf of my mother Yuet Kwei Chin.  My mother sometimes called her Heing Dee.  And that was what she was to my mother - just like a sister.  My mother became friends with her when she first arrived in Canada in the late 1950's and they have remained friends all these decades.  My mother and Heing spoke on the phone about a month and a half ago and she was so happy to hear her voice.  I also heard from my mom that she was an amazing cook and cared so much for her family.  Our condolences to the family.  She will be greatly missed.

Our hearts go out to you and your family. There is never a right time nor place to lose a mother (grandmother/great-grandmother), and nothing is harder than saying goodbye to someone you love. Although distance and time separated our families, we remain the closest of friends. Both my mother and father (now deceased) were very close to Auntie Yet Heing Jim and they kept in touch with her over the years. My wife and I were very blessed to be able to have dim sum with Auntie, Bing and Margaret in Richmond, BC in August of 2024. I had not seen Auntie in awhile, and she shared many a story. Her memory was sharp as a tack, and she could recall things and events that I had long forgotten. She was another connection to my departed parents. Auntie was such a loving, caring and wonderful person all around. Thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort in the days ahead.

We are so very sorry and saddened to hear of Auntie Yet Heing’s passing.  Sending heartfelt condolences.

Mom considered Auntie her forever best friend. She spoke fondly of her often and reminisced about their time together in China and St John’s, NL.  They had not seen each other for many years but spoke often on the phone.  Sadly our Mom passed in July.   Perhaps Mom and Auntie are together again.

Auntie moved to Vancouver when I was about 4 years old.  I do have fond memories, although a little vague, but I clearly remember her visits to NL and our visits with her in Vancouver.  She was a very special lady - kind, gentle and caring.  She will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jim family at this difficult time.  May fond memories comfort you and keep her near.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Yet Heing Jim. I have fond memories of her during her time in St. John's, Newfoundland when I was a child. She was a very friendly, wonderful and gracious person. She will be dearly missed. On behalf of all of my family, I offer our deepest condolences.

I remember visiting Great Aunt with my Mom in 2016 to try to learn the secret of making dumplings.  I was eager and thought I had the speed and strength to match my ambition.  I could not have been more mistaken as Great Aunt ran circles around me churning out what seemed like 100 dumplings for each 1 of mine.  I don't know how she did it year over year but we were always so grateful to taste anything that came out of her kitchen.

Dear Uncle Bing, Auntie Margaret, Anita, Christopher, Desmond, and family,

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Auntie Jim. She was a kind and loving woman who made a lasting impression on me, especially when I first arrived in Vancouver. She welcomed me warmly and treated me like one of her own grandchildren, which I will always remember.

Please accept my sincere condolences. May the many loving memories you shared bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Jim Family. Our mother (Hum Tai Jim) was a dear friend of Yet Heing’s they shared a lifelong friendship that began in China to Newfoundland and then kept in touch even when they were no longer near each other until our mom passed recently. We had the pleasure of meeting her in Vancouver with our mom many years ago where they had a happy reunion. We are saddened with your loss.
