Yiu Lim Lo, age 99, was called home by God on July 14
Our father, our grandfather, our great grandfather was called home by God on July 14, 2026.
Yiu Lim Lo was born in Singapore in 1926. However, because of the disruptions caused by war, his official documents recorded his date of birth as December, 1928.
When he was still a young child, he returned with his own father to their ancestral home in China. During the Pacific War, his father passed away, leaving him to support himself from a young age. After the Second World War ended, in 1945, at the age of nineteen, he moved to Hong Kong and worked in different fields.
In 1950, he met his beloved wife in Hong Kong. They married and started a family in 1953, and were blessed with four children—two sons and two daughters. He and his wife shared 67 wonderful years together.
He was a loving father and enjoyed playing games with his children. Whenever he had time off from work, he would take them out swimming or on family outings. He loved cooking Western meals for the family to enjoy and his special milk tea became a signature favorite that everyone looked forward to.
He placed great importance on his children's education. He worked diligently to provide for his family and encouraged his children to pursue learning and value education. He also taught them to be courteous, respectful, and generous.
He committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ before he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1992. He and his wife enjoyed caring for their grandchildren during their retirement in Canada.
He was blessed by God with a long and fulfilling life and rejoiced that he could join his wife in the heavenly home.
