Carolyn Sue Wells

Carolyn Sue Wells passed away October 17, 2014. She was born in New Braunfels on December 3, 1945, to Benno and Agnes Fey Henk. Carolyn Sue grew up in San Marcos and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1964.

Carolyn Sue was proud to have spent most of her working career employed by Southwest Texas State University, beginning in the Department of Financial Aid and ending with her retirement in 2004 from Residence Life. During these years she continued her education at the university, graduating in 1988.

Carolyn Sue was a giver in every sense of the word. When she saw a need she gave whatever she had to offer whether it was financial or the gift of her time. Following her retirement she became a dedicated member of the Central Texas Medical Center Auxiliary where she enjoyed working in the gift shop and publishing the monthly volunteer newsletter. Carolyn Sue was a former officer of the Auxiliary, including past President. She also volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels. Carolyn Sue was very talented with a crochet needle, creating hundreds of baby blankets and afghans for family, friends, and as

donations.

Carolyn Sue was a parishioner at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Marcos where she was a member of the Claretian Guild. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Carolyn Sue is survived by her daughters Betty Sue (John) Smallwood and Sara Ann (Jim, Jr.) Luther, step-sons Ralph (Joyce) Wells, III and Tim (Pam) Wells, grandchildren Kelly Sue (Ben) Juge, Jess and Hunter Luther, and Brittany Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 25 years, Ralph W. Wells, Jr., her parents, brothers Norman and Harvey Henk, and grandchildren Leo John Moczygemba, III, and Katie Lynn Moczygemba.

Services for Carolyn Sue Wells will be held Monday, October 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. Carolyn Sue was a monthly donor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and League House (Seton Fund). The family respectfully requests that those wishing to make a donation in her honor consider these causes that were dear to her.
