

Carroll Beth Reich Allbritton passed away on September 15, 2023, at her home on Lake Buchanan, Buchanan Dam, Texas, with her daughter, Dana, her son Guerin, and her sister, Tommye by her side. Carroll was born on October 3, 1937, at Burnet, Texas, to Owen Evins Reich and Clara Belle Martin Reich, at the home of her grandmother, Susie Martin. Carroll thought her grandmother, Susie "Ma" Martin might have been a midwife, as she gave birth to eleven children of her own.
A graduate of Burnet High School in 1956, Carroll was an all-around student, by participating in basketball, cheerleading and being named Homecoming Queen.
She graduated Shepperd Memorial Hospital Nursing School at Burnet, Texas and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She attended Nixon-Clay Business College and worked at the historic Paramount Theater at Austin, Texas, as a ticket taker.
On August 11, 1957, Carroll married William Norman "Bill" Heckman, at Burnet, Texas. They were blessed with four children, Dana, Debbie, Guerin and Robert.
Carroll was a member of the Burnet Garden Club, where she won awards for her beautiful creations, along with joining a golf club in 1963, where she also won awards.
Bill passed away in 1980, at which time Carroll took full responsibility for the family's NAPA stores, along with maintaining a beautiful home for her children.
Carroll and John D. Allbritton were married November 29, 1986, in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Marble Falls, Texas. Carroll and John D. traveled to tropical destinations with close friends and they also took up square dancing, bowling, bridge playing and fishing. They lived life to the fullest at their beautiful home on Lake Buchanan. Carroll took great pride in her home, in her yard and in her gardens.
Carroll was the heart of her family, hosting holiday celebrations at Thanksgiving and Christmas, with delicious food and a perfectly set table. Her chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, lemon meringue pies, coconut cream and chocolate pies were exceptional. She was an artisan seamstress, making dresses for her daughters with matching dresses for their Barbie dolls. She made a dress for her great-granddaughter, Harper, with a matching dress for her doll. Carroll was the ultimate homemaker.
Surviving Carroll are her daughter, Dana Simpson, her son, Guerin Heckman; three grandchildren, Adrianne McAllister, Amanda Davis, and Joshua Young; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Young, Harper Davis and Sloane Davis; sister, Tommye Dorbandt Potts and brother, Don Reich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Evins Reich and Clara Belle Dorbandt; by her husband, Bill Heckman, her husband, John D. Allbritton, and by her beloved children, Robert Heckman and Debbie McAllister.
A memorial service in Carroll's honor will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 E. Polk, Burnet, Texas.
