

Jane Wright Harris Kenyon, 75 of Buchanan Dam passed away August 18, 2014. She was born January 1, 1939 in Nix, Texas to Charles Otis Wright and Mildred Christine Baker Wright. She attended the Nix School House and later Lampasas High School where she graduated in 1957.
She married the late Gene Harris of Lometa in 1956 and they raised three daughters in Austin and Nix. For many years Jane had an in home daycare center and loved being an important part of the lives of many children.
On Valentine’s Day 1986 she married the late Jack Kenyon. Ranching, gardening, traveling, and playing with her grandchildren were just a few of her favorite things. She loved life on Lake Buchanan, The Mason Ranch, The Sand Hills Ranch, Nix, and the Sulphur Springs on the Colorado River. Jane was one of the first ranchers to introduce Registered Dorper Sheep into our area and she also raised Registered Longhorns and most recently Registered Black Angus.
Jane never met a stranger and opened here heart and home to many. She always had a helping hand a smile on her face. She was called “Mom” and loved by many.
Jane is survived by her three daughters Regina Harris Brown and husband Ronnie of Naruna, Rhonda Harris Blanton and husband Randy of Abilene, and Rachel Harris Henry and husband Martin of Lake Buchanan and son Shane Green and wife Kristi; sisters Charlene Wright Slusser of Burnet, Ginger Wright Whitsell and husband Neil of Austin and sister- in- law Lois Bradley Wright of Lake Buchanan; grandchildren Rowdy Brown and wife Lacey of Uvalde, Ryder Brown of College Station, Roper Brown and Renee Walker of San Antonio, Matt Blanton and wife Katelyn of Devine, Casey Blanton of Devine, and Hayden Jack and Hannah Jane Henry of Lake Buchanan; great-grandchildren Emeri, Brynlee, and soon to be baby sister Stella Brown, and Skylar and Presley Blanton. Jane is also survived by numerous cousins and friends and by chosen brothers and best friends Nolan Green and Randolph Scott. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gene Harris and Jack Kenyon, sister Judy Wright Queen, Mary Wright Woodward and brother Jimmy “Big Jim” Wright.
A visitation for Jane’s family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
