At his request, Jim passed peacefully in his home with his wife, Sally at his bedside.
Jim was a good man and wore many hats in his life and he loved most of them. He was a son, a best friend, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a disabled Vietnam veteran in the USMC, an excellent carpenter, a glazier, cook, airplane mechanic, musician, gardener and most importantly, a Christian. Jim was so many things to so many people. His presence will be sorely missed.
Jim was born in Abilene, Texas on October 31, 1946, to Ellison Alfred White and Elsie Mae Burgess White. Jim was an only child except for the young cousin, George who lived with the family for several years and was raised as a “brother”. The family moved to Fort Worth and then to Moore, Oklahoma where Jim graduated from Moore high school in 1964. He went into the USMC and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal before being honorable discharged in 1969. After his service to his country, Jim moved to the Fort Worth area, where he met and married the mother of his children, Sherie Fowler. They moved to the Burnet area where they welcomed their son, Jimmie John in 1979, and their daughter, Amie in 1982. Some of his favorite memories were of those years raising his children, where they built a zip line, go-karts and he loved being a dad to his children and watching them grow. Jim and Sherie grew their family for twenty-two years.
Jim and Sally married in 2001 and Jim gained his “Bonus” daughter, Stephanie. Jim and Sally have spent the last 22 years building their life together, where they have traveled, fished, hunted, gardened, played on the beaches and enjoyed going to the casinos. They laughed and cried together, all while taking care of each other. Together they became grandparents, Jim survived two heart attacks but most importantly, they loved each other to the end.
Jim and Sally attend The WakePoint Fellowship Church in Kingsland.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Logan, and many dear friends.
Jim leaves behind his grieving wife, Sally, and his son, Jim (Marissa), his daughter Amie (Patrick) and his bonus daughter Stephanie (Randy). Jim also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Jimmie Ellison, Peyton, Paislie, Finnlie, Grayson and Jase, as well as his “Brother” George and wife Patti and many loved sisters and brothers-in-law. He will also be missed by his many close friends.
